Genetic testing – how to request this for your patients

The national genomic test directory enables healthcare professionals outside of clinical genetics to request ‘diagnostic’ genetic testing at the point of care rather than referring to clinical genetics.

This half-day virtual training programme aims to provide a practical tool-kit for healthcare professionals to request genetic testing.

We will focus on the use of the national genomic test directory, key points to cover during conversation(s) with patients, consenting of patients for genomic testing and communicating genetic test results.

This online programme includes interactive workshops and opportunities to engage and ask questions; there will be the option of choosing a Rare Disease and Cancer focused workshop during the programme. Signposting for further information and access to on-going support will be given.
