Dogger Bank D Offshore Wind Farm
Dogger Bank D has a potential capacity of up to 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable electricity. The Project's offshore array area is located in the Dogger Bank region of the southern North Sea, approximately 210km off the Yorkshire coat at its nearest point. The array area comprises a maximum of 113 onshore wind turbines and up two offshore platform(s). The turbines will be connected to the offshore platforms via subsea inter-array cables.
Electricity from the Project will be transmitted to shore via offshore export cables, making landfall southeast of Skipsea, East Riding of Yorkshire. Underground high voltage direct current cables will connect to an Onshore Converter Station, alongside Energy Storage and Balacing Infrastructure. High voltage alternating current cables will then link the Onshore Converter Station to a National Grid substation at Birkhill Wood.
